We Are Pimlico Proud
Our school has served the Park Heights community since 1910, when the school opened as Pimlico #223. We are very proud of this community tradition. Generations of students have attended Pimlico, and we have been a community anchor for two centuries.
Today, we continue this legacy as a charter school operated by the Projet de curriculum de Baltimore (BCP), Maryland’s largest neighborhood charter school program. BCP began running charter schools in 2005 and manages five other charter schools within the Baltimore City Public Schools.
The Pimlico Way extends to our location approximately 1.0 mile from Pimlico Race Track, home of the Preakness. Our mascot, a thoroughbred, honors the Preakness, the second of the three “Triple Crown” events for thoroughbred horse racing.
Our 21st Century School
The renovations honor the historic structure of the original building. Our facilities are fully updated to provide students, teachers, and families with the very best in modern learning environments. Spaces are flexible to adapt to diverse learning needs. Carefully planned green spaces extend our learning outside the classroom. Throughout the design process, City Schools and the architects sought community and school input to create our wonderful facility.
